Advertisement Critique

The following advertisement is for Kenny Ross car dealership. The three signature mistakes to avoid in an advertisement have all been projected in this particular ad, visual clutter, unclearness, and poor grammar.

The ad is simply way to busy. It is bombarded with many pictures, texts, numbers, and symbols that one ad alone should not have. To add to this extreme clutter, the color scheme of the ad is quite bright. Sure the bright colors and composition certainly attract viewers, but since it is so busy, it makes the ad unclear and not easily understood. This ad does the exact opposite of its purpose to attract car buyers, just because of its busy placements. Essentially it is basically portrayed as a blur, making the viewer simply carry on and pay more attention into another advertisement. This Kenny Ross ad does not have many full sentences, but in the top left section of the ad, there are punctuation marks used throughout the body paragraph, but a period is missing after the last statement. The majority of the ad does not use punctuation since there are not many complete sentences, but because this specific section used proper grammar throughout the text, and simply forgot a period at the end, it looks funny.
